A leaked image was shared on Twitter of what is rumoured to be the new Nokia 8. The image clearly shows both sides of the phone revealing the dual rear-camera module which shows off the Zeiss branding of the latest Nokia smartphone.

The image shared by prolific tipster Evan Blass on his Twitter account was shared shortly after he teased an image of the Nokia 8 camera module, captioned with a hashtag 'teaser'. The image reveals a familiar design language seen previously on the Nokia 3, 5 and 6. The main highlight, however, is the primary camera module on the back which confirms that Carl Zeiss and HMD Global are working together on upcoming Nokia flagship devices.

The image appears to pack a dual-tone LED flash and a laser-based autofocusing system housed alongside the two cameras. This is also likely to be the first Nokia-branded smartphone to sport a dual-camera setup. We are not sure about the exact setup of the dual cameras here as the company has not clarified if it will go with a monochrome sensor and an RGB sensor or it will pack a normal lens along with a telephoto lens like iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5.

The revealed image shows up a day after a report stating that the new Nokia flagship is expected to go on sale on 31 July. While previous reports expected the Nokia 9 to be launched in the second quarter of 2017, it now seems that the Nokia 8 would arrive first. The report also mentioned that the Nokia 8 will bear a model number TA-1004 and will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset. The device is expected to pack in 4 GB RAM and to come with 64 GB of internal storage. It is expected with a dual-SIM card slot in European markets along with a single SIM variant for other markets.
