After the recent update to the Galaxy S4, which added Galaxy Gear compatibility among other things, Samsung has now revealed the list of its smartphones that will be getting compatibility updates for the smartwatch soon. Here’s the list of Samsung’s mid-to-high-end smartphones that will be getting the update:

"Through a significant effort to enhance and enrich the Galaxy experience, Samsung continues to empower our users in their mobile lives and enable smart freedom with Galaxy Gear."
Can you use the Gear with your smartphone?
As we already know, the Note 3, Note 2 and S4 were definitely going to be compatible with the Gear sooner or later. What's interesting, however, is that Samsung has expanded this list to include a lot of other devices as well, including all of the S4 variants and the Mega series. Sadly enough, no other smartphone will be getting Gear compatibility, at least from what we know so far. Samsung might reveal more information, such as definitive dates for the over-the-air updates for these devices soon.
