Google Pixel 2 set to arrive this year; will stay 'premium'

Google Pixel, the flagship Google was one of the key highlights in the smartphone industry in 2016. It marked a move towards Google branded smartphones along with a move to the 'premium' price range. Considering how impressive the Google Pixel was, everyone in the smartphone industry is asking questions about the Google Pixel 2. There are no official details or announcements regarding the second generation of the smartphone apart from the established fact that Google Nexus lineup is dead and Google Pixel is the new lineup that replaces the Nexus lineup.There have been reports about the company working on budget Pixel devices to target mid range or upper-mid range of smartphone devices in the market. According to a new report by AndroidPit, Rick Osterloh, the Senior Vice President of Hardware at Google confirmed at MWC 2017 that Pixel 2 is coming later this year and that 'Pixel stays premium'. He further went on to add that "There is an annual rhythm in the industry. So, you can count on us to follow it" when asked about the announcement and launch date of the successor.He did not make any further comments about the smartphone and maintained that there will be no cheap Pixel putting hopes of an affordable Google Pixel at rest. Pixel 2 is expected to arrive in the second half of the year with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and probably second generation of Google Daydream View. This comes days after reports of official 3D renders of Google Pixel 2 leaking out.
