Looks like the competition is getting hot in the 1080p display arena. After word about the Canvas 4 and the Karbonn Titanium S6, a new leak suggests Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is preparing the Elite E6 to take on the two big Indian brands. The phone was teased on Facebook by the company and it will be announced in Beijing on July 10.

The promotional picture also shows the camera on the top-left corner of the back. Another set of leaked images confirm the camera lens placement. These pictures give us a clear look at the front and back of the phone. The capacitive buttons below the display are clearly inspired by the HTC buttons. The back of the phone looks to be covered in a rubberised material and there’s nothing else save for the branding and the camera along with an LED flash.
The company has already launched a few smartphones in India. Check out our reviews of the Gionee Dream D1 and the Elite E3 to get an idea of what Gionee has to offer.
