GCHQ has disclosed more than 20 vulnerabilities in 2016

UK's premier signal intelligence agency Government Communications Headquarters also known as GCHQ claims that it has helped disclose and fix around two dozen individual vulnerabilities in the last few months in 2016.This came to light after it emerged that GCHQ was instrumental in discovering vulnerabilities in Mozilla Firefox thanks to its info-sec arm Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG).GCHQ also claims that it has helped disclose some vulneratbilities in Mac OS X and iOS as well. One of them included a kernel vulnerability in OS X El Capitan v10.11.4 which would allow arbitrary code execution. The two vulnerabilities in iOS include one which would arbitrarily execute code and the other which would let an application launch a denial-of-service attack.According to a GCHQ spokesperson, the GCHQ is not always credited by the vendors when it discloses the bugs, but it asks for credit in bulletins published.
