Facebook has updated its trending section in News Feed
The redesign makes it easier for Facebook users to see how different new publications are reporting any given topic.

Facebook has announced a redesigned ‘Trending’ results page for its users. The redesign will make it easier for users to find other publications that have reported on the topic. Users will also be able to discover what their friends and public figures on Facebook are saying about any given topic. The new interface will start rolling out from today for users on iPhone with Android and desktop version following soon.[caption id="attachment_378236" align="aligncenter" width="640"]

This makes it easier for users to see how different new publications are reporting any given topic. Facebook detailed how the ranking works in the new interface while maintaining that it has not changed from the old interface. The ranking is a combination of engagement around the article on Facebook, engagement around the publisher and other articles that are linking to the article. There is no fixed or pre-defined list of publications that are ‘eligible’ to be a part of the Trending list.[caption id="attachment_378235" align="aligncenter" width="640"]

It will start testing a New Feed where people will be about to see top three trending topics on the top. Users can tap on the list to access the full list of trending topics and explore the discussion around those topics. Users will have the option to remove the ‘Trending’ unit from their News Feed using the drop-down menu.
