Cyanogen OS 13.1 with new MOD features coming to OnePlus One

Cyanogen and OnePlus have a rocky past but that doesn't mean the newest MOD-ready update isn't making its way to latter's devices. Cyanogen OS 13.1 update has started rolling out to eligible devices, which includes the OnePlus One.The highlight of this Cyanogen OS update is new feature called Mods. So, these are third party features baked into the OS, allowing swift and easy access. For instance, Twitter integrated in the lock screen. The Twitter mod brings trending tweets and news to the lock screen. On swiping left, one can access fullscreen Twitter experience, without the need to unlock the device or access the app. "Enabling a mod on your lock screen is as simple as accessing Settings on your Cyanogen OS device, tapping on Lock screen, selecting Lock Screen Mods, and then tapping on your mod of choice," Cyanogen writes in a blogpost.The launch of Cyanagon 13.1 clearly puts Microsoft's apps and services at the forefront. For instance, Cortana Mod is extended to the lockscreen for easier access. "With the updated Cortana mod, you can tell Cortana to “take a selfie,” giving you a voice-controlled, hands-free automatic countdown for capturing your picture. Once the selfie is snapped, you can quickly review the photo and easily share it right from the film strip on the phone," Microsoft explains in a blogpost.Skype mod in Cyanogen OS 13.1 lets you quickly and easily start Skype conversations directly from the Cyanogen phone app. It lets users conveniently switch from a cellular voice call to a Skype video call when calling a friend using Cyanogen or Android device. Moreover, the Cyanogen contacts app will let you search, see and call your Skype contacts straight from the contact card.The new OneNote mod makes note-taking simple and intuitive. The Email app helps save important email to OneNote for later use, and one can also add notes during a phone call such as a phone number or a to-do. "The Microsoft Hyperlapse mod for Camera allows you to create smooth and stabilized time-lapse videos. Simply open the Camera app, switch modes to Hyperlapse, and shoot your video," adds the blogpost.
