Cowon Announce the D2 Successor - the C2
Cowon's budget PMP lineup gets a new addition.

It’s been absolutely eons since Cowon released the D2+, a slight upgrade to the D2. Both were budget conscious PMPs, so when Cowon announced the D3, I’m sure a lot of people were taken aback because it took a completely different direction from its predecessors. Now it turns out the D2’s actual replacement is the C2, which the Korean company only recently announced.

Cowon don't care for alphabet consistency
The C2’s specs are as follows:
- 2.6-inch resistive touchscreen at 320x240
- 4GB, 8GB and 16GB variants
- microSD card slot for capacity expansion
- USB 2.0
- Internal Microphone
- Composite Video Output
- Battery rated at 10 hours of video and 55 hours of audio playback
The C2, being a Cowon player, will likely have excellent audio format support (FLAC included) and from what we’ve seen so far, will probably feature great audio quality, as well. Let’s just hope the rest of the device lives up to expectations, and that the price is decent when it eventually does get here as well.
