Canon has announced the new PowerShot G9 X Mark II which features the latest DIGIC 7 processor along with a host of features like Bluetooth connectivity, and a Video Creator Kit, starring the PowerShot G7X Mark II, aimed specifically at mobile filmmakers. The new G7X Mark II gets the DIGIC 7 image processor that first came out with the G7X. The image processor is expected to deliver better low light performance with less noise at higher ISO with faster processing speeds. Also included is better face and object tracking and charging over USB.The camera also packs in an always-on Bluetooth option. It features the same f2.0-4.9 lens with a a 28-84mm zoom range, the same 3-inch LCD touchscreen like its predecessor. In short its not a complete redesign, but just an update to keep up with the competition.Canon Powershot g9x mark ii rearThat competition would include cameras from Sony and Panasonic that have gradually taken the lead in this space. A simple example would be 4K recording that has not made on the PowerShot G7X Mark II. The feature has been the norm on RX100 Mark V and its predecessors for some time now and which so much more available on the Sony, its easy to ignore the Canon compact.
