CES 2015: CocoJet 3D printer will squirt out Hershey's chocolate for you

CES 2015 witnessed much more than the expected gadgets and technologies. It witnessed chocolates, like never before!CocoJet, a chocolate 3D printer was unveiled at the Consumers Electronics Show, in collaboration with the Hershey Company. It can print custom designs in dark, milk or white chocolate, making it a delight for bakers and chocolatiers globally.3ders reported that much like traditional 3D printers which produce plastic objects, CocoJet heats and squeezes chocolates instead of plastic filaments. As chocolate is temperature dependent, it is very important to control the heating and cooling cycles accurately.These 3D printers are a pleasant change from the typical plastic or metal printers. They will not prepare your favorite treat in a matter of seconds but could take an approximate 15 minutes for each bonbon. It is definitely worth the wait. It will also print out intricate architectural cake and cocktail decorations.The report further added, that the collaboration with Hershey was meant to incorporate 3D chocolate printing into Hershey's Chocolate World live experience. 3D Systems says, it provides valuable market research on the consumer applications for chocolate 3D printing.Though there is no information as to when this will go on sale, it might be available for an exorbitant price. A video of this technology is previewed below.
3D Systems also announced its ChefJet series, the first professional-grade food 3D printers at the event. The company says that full-color ChefJet Pro produce edible 3D printed candies and decor.
