CES 2011: Dell Launches Two 3D Laptops
One XPS plus one Alienware equals two 3D laptops.
Dell have today announced the launch of two 3D laptops at the Consumer Electronics Show. The XPS 17 3D and the Alienware M17x 3D represent the Studio XPS and Alienware brands respectively.
The 17-inch XPS 17 3D boasts of a Sandy Bridge processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M graphics card, JBL sound, an integrated subwoofer and HD video streaming with Skype for HD camming. 3D viewing will require NVIDIA’s 3D Vision Kit though, something that’s not bundled with these laptops which is quite disappointing.
The XPS 17
The new M17x is Alienware’s first 3D-capable gaming laptop, offering a realistic mobile gaming experience in a 17-inch display (3D capability requires optional 120Hz w/3D Bundle WideFHD WLED LCD display and NVIDIA graphics card). With its available full HD 120Hz 3D display, the new M17x offers stereoscopic viewing for gaming and 3D Blu-ray movie experiences.

The XPS 17 is expected to cost around Rs. 65,500 ($1449) and will be out on February 1, whereas the M17x will cost Rs. 67,500 ($1499) and will be available from January 10 onwards.
