Canadian woman claims her iPhone was intact after a 2,500 foot drop

A Canadian woman claims her iPhone survived a 2,500 foot drop from a plane and was recovered in an intact condition. Jeannine Buck was a passenger in a Cessna aircraft, taking photos from an open window, when the phone slipped and fell. The wind outside the plane was responsible for Buck losing her grip on the phone. Buck saw it falling into the treetops, which made her hopeful that maybe the device could be recovered. She used a friend's iPhone to use the "Find my iPhone" app, a few hours after the phone fell off the plane.The phone was tracked to the general location of a park using the iPhone's default tracking application, especially made for finding lost or stolen iPhones. After that, a call was made, and the iPhone was found because of it's distinctive ringtone. The phone was still in working condition, with even the glass panel intact.The body of the phone was slightly damaged, but otherwise the phone was in working condition, according to a report in CNet. The phone was an iPhone 5S. This may seem like a fantastical story, but the soft landing on trees could have helped cushion the blow and allowed the iPhone to escape with only minor damage.
