Budget Oppo A33 smartphone with 4G LTE support launched in China

Oppo mobile has launched yet another budget 4G smartphone in its home market, China. The smartphone that is now on sale on Oppo's official website is priced at CNY 1499 (approximately Rs 16,000), which is pretty high considering the features that the smartphone offers and even what the competition has on offer.The Oppo A33 does look like a premium smartphone in terms of design, but one look at the hardware specs and you begin to wonder whether the price tag is worth it. Below that well-built glass and metal construction, hides a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.On the front, we get a 5 inch 960 x 540 pixels display, which seems below average considering the HD and Full HD options available from Xiaomi and Motorola at this price point.The camera department consists of an 8 MP AF camera on the back with an LED flash and 5 MP unit up front. Connectivity options include 3G, 4G/LTE bands, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. Powering it all is a 2400 mAh battery and running the show is Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oppo’s custom ColorOS 2.1 skinning.For now there are a sea of smartphones out there, that offer better specifications at a lower price tag. Take for example the Xiaomi Mi 4i, that will obliterate the Oppo A33 with its Snapdragon 615 SoC and its Rs 14,999 price tag. Then there are budget handsets available from brands like Motorola that offer better value as well. Oppo has not announced any plans to launch the smartphone in the Indian market, but considering that past handsets have made it here, it won’t be long until it officially arrives in India.
