BlackBerry Aurora is the first ever dual-SIM mid-ranged smartphone from the company

BlackBerry shutdown its hardware business but that doesn't mean that it is out of it. The company now has TCL as its official hardware maker and it recently also launched the KEYOne (aka Mercury), a throwback to the good old BlackBerry design mixed with new age tech.The company quietly launched another smartphone yesterday in Indonesia called the Aurora. The handset basically comes from BB Merah Putih, which holds the license for making, marketing, and selling BlackBerry branded smartphones in Indonesia.It isn't a high-end device as its is powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. It has a 5.5-inch 720p touchscreen and in the camera department we have a 13MP rear unit and an 8 MP selfie shooter. The smartphone measures 152x6.8x8.5mm and weighs in at 178g. Rounding off the features is a 3,000mAh battery, Android 7.0 Nougat, and colour options of black, silver, and gold."The phone is not only the first BlackBerry-branded device to ever be produced in Indonesia, but it is the first BlackBerry device in the world to be equipped with dual-SIM functionality," said Stanly Widjaja, Vice President, BB Merah Putih.The smartphone was announced with a price tag of IDR 3,499,000 ($260) which is roughly about Rs 18,000. It is said to be available for pre-order on various e-commerce portals in Indonesia.
