Apple iPhone 6S sports a 1715mAh battery; 6S Plus includes a 2750mAh battery

At Apple's 'Hey Siri' event saw the launch of the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. While Cook announced most of the features of the phone, one critical element was left out of the announcements. Battery capacity.

However, Apple claims that the battery life one can expect on the 6S and 6S Plus to be on a respectable side. With the iPhone 6S giving a 3G battery life of 14 hours and iPhone 6S Plus claiming a 24-hour battery life. Apple claims that it will incorporate battery-saving features on iOS 9, the newest version of iOS with which the new phones are expected to ship.

iOS 9 is expected to release on September 16 and claims to have battery saving feature for all supporting iPhones.

One certainly needs to takes Apple's claims with a pinch of salt as the new phones come with a completely new touch interface, higher megapixel camera with features such as 4K video recording and Live Photos, which can be potential battery hogs. We will only find out the true battery life once the phones are out.
