Apple flaunts Beats by Dr Dre products on its online store post acquisition

Apple has started displaying products by Beats on its online store after taking over the music company. The latest update comes a week after the Apple-Beats deal was given a nod by the European antitrust body.

The products are available on the Accessories section of its website, where users can buy headphones, speakers and other music accessories by Beats. The Apple India website is yet to get an online store, so you can't see these products on the Indian website as of now.

Apple decided to take over Beats early this year, bringing the renowned music line under its arm. Beats Electronics has been in the music industry since 2006 providing music streaming services and music accessories. Apple, on the other hand, has always been serious about its music business, considering its an empire built on the iPod and iTunes. Apple is also the top seller of songs downloaded over the Internet and has attracted 40 million listeners to its free iTunes Radio service since its launch.

However, with the acquisition of Beats Apple not only gets cool hardware to package with its devices, but also gives it a streaming service which Beats had launched from scratch. In fact, the Apple-Beats deal was widely seen as a bid to counter the increasing threat posed by music streaming services like Pandora and Spotify to Apple’s iTunes store.
