An all-Tesla racing series where modified electric cars compete against each other likely to take place soon

Image: Tesla[/caption]The ultimate plan for the Electric Production Car Series (EPCS) is to allow all car manufacturers to bring their best electric cars and pit them against their rivals as reported by The Verge. The lack of performance electric cars at the moment means that the event will begin as an all Tesla event.The report adds that EPCS plans to conduct races on all major motorsport circuits around the world, pitting race-modified Tesla P100Ds that comprise of nearly 800 bhp of power. The series is yet to have a complete roster of teams or support from a long list of sponsors, setting up a mammoth task ahead for the organisers before any races.We do not have any details on the tentative dates or the circuits where races will be held but the first race is expected to take place by the end of 2018. Getting an approval from FIA would come as a major boost for the company since the authority is extremely strict when it comes to giving an approval to an event.It will also face serious competition in the form of Formula E which is currently the biggest and most popular electric racing series in the world.
