AMD unveils 7000 series mobile APUs and M300 series mobile graphics solutions

AMD unveiled its latest generation of 7000-series accelerated processing units (APUs) for mobile products, new price points for A-series desktop APUs, along with AMD Radeon 300 series desktop graphics cards for OEM PCs and AMD Radeon M300 series mobile graphics solutions.Formerly codenamed Carrizo-L, the 7000 series mobile system on chip (SoC) will come with AMD processor cores, GPU cores, an AMD Secure Processor and system I/O on a single chip. There will be support for Microsoft DirectX 12, Windows 10 and more. Here are the features of the latest mobile SoCs.AMD mobile APUThe mobile graphics solution has got a brand new update in the form of Radeon M300 series mobile GPUs. These GPUs will be seen in laptops from companies such as Alienware, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba and so on. Based on the next-gen Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, the mobile GPUs will support DirectX 12. According to Anandtech, most of the mobile GPUs are a rebadging or the older mobile graphics solutions as all are based on the GCN 1.0 architecture. Here are the expected details on the mobile GPUs.AMD M300On the graphics cards for the desktop front, AMD has released OEM desktop Radeon 300 series GPUs. This is again a rebranding of the older series desktop GPUs. The OEMs will sell these graphics cards under new names, as there are subtle changes in terms of specifications. Since these are OEM parts, you will most likely not be seeing these cards in the retail market. The A-10 7850K will come at $127 (Rs 8,200); A10-7800 at $127 (Rs 8,200); A10-7700K at $117 (Rs 7,500); A8-7650K at $95 (Rs 6,100); A8-7600 at $85 (Rs 5,500); A6-7400K at $60 (Rs 3,900) and A4-7300 at $42 (Rs 2,700).
