Amazon to come up with new messaging app 'Anytime'

With the likes of Apple, Facebook, WhatsApp already in the messaging app business, Amazon will soon come out with its own stand alone messaging app called 'Anytime'.According to AFTV News report, the e-commerce company has begun pushing out customer surveys to understand its audience and the features they look for in a messaging app. As per the report, no mobile phone number is required to join its app. Supposedly, they intend to work on usernames with an @ mention like Twitter. It will also have a video calling feature which would enable them to have special effects and masks.By the looks of it, it seems the aim of 'Anytime' is to be a mix of every messaging app. It aims to have generic generic features like GIFs, stickers, and emojis to conversations, encryption of chats even the now standard privacy settings. Others include some obvious ones like video and voice calls. It would be available on iOS and Android, and can be accessed across desktop or mobile. Though great, messaging can be quite a cluttered space. But Amazon intends to provide features like sharing of location, commercial activities like ordering food, making reservations, and shopping that should make it special.The fact that it will use usernames to call people for a one to one call or a group chat makes it interesting. Other than that it will use color codes to mark important contacts.
