Amazon Great Indian Sale to start on 9 August; 35 percent discount on iPhones and more

Amazon will play host to a massive sale starting from 9 August until 12 August on the occasion of India's 71st Independence Day. The sale, which is called as the "Amazon Great Indian Sale", will feature lucrative deals along with early access to top deals for Amazon Prime members.The sale will offer a selection of over 100 million products across various categories. One thing to note here is that the company has not given details on the exact amount of discounts that it is offering on different products. The company has only offered an estimate on the upper limit of the discounts in terms of percentage in reference to the listed price of the products. Apple's iPhones will have discounts of up to 35 percent, while OnePlus and Samsung will have discounts of Rs 2,000. Coolpad phones will see a price slash of up to 15 percent and InFocus phones will see a discount of seven percent.TV and Laptops:Amazon will offer up to 35 percent discount on television sets from Samsung and BPL while TCL and Sanyo television sets will come with discounts of 15 percent and 33 percent respectively. Apple, Dell, and HP laptops see a price slash of nearly 20 percent. Accessories such as JBL speakers will be having a 45 percent discount, while speakers from Sony and Philips are being offered at a 35 percent and 45 percent discount respectively.Internet routers and Powerbanks:Routers of Netgear, TP-Link, D-Link, and Digisol have been discounted by up to 50 percent, while power banks by Lenovo, Intex and Xiaomi are being sold at a discount up to 65 percent.Gaming consoles and software:Gaming consoles will have up to Rs 2,000 off and PC accessories will have a discount of up to 50 percent. Apple Watch will be discounted by 20 percent alongside discounts of 75 percent on software products.Camera and home electronics:Tablets and cameras will feature up to 45 percent discount and printers will have up to 35 percent discount. The company is also offering about up to 50 percent discount on home entertainment accessories.Amazon Prime members will have access to exclusive deals such as Buy One Get One on TV's  and also have 30 minutes early access to several other top details.Straight up discounts are not the only way that Amazon is trying to lure customers into buying the products offered on its platform. The company is also offering "Amazon Pay Balance only deals" with instant 10-15 percent cash back on Samsung, Bose, Fitbit, and LG products. These deals come in addition to the offer where those customers who have topped up their Amazon pay balance between August 4 and August 12 will get an extra 15 percent cash back.Debit and credit card holders of SBI Bank will be getting a cashback of Rs 300.  There is also a chance to win an iPhone 7 128 GB and up to 10 trips to Bali if customers purchase from the official Amazon app is made. The sale ends on 11:59 IST on 12 August.
