Acer enters Phablet game, launches Liquid S1 with 5.7-inch screen

Acer today announced its first phablet device, ahead of the Computex 2013 in Taiwan. The phablet comes with a 5.7-inch screen and is called the Acer Liquid S1.

Key features of the device include: a 5.7-inch screen with 1280 x 720 screen resolution. The device will be available in single and dual SIM versions. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, has a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, and a day's worth of battery power according to Acer.

The S1 also has an 8-megapixel camera, with 1080p video recording capability. The front-facing camera is 2-megapixels. The device supports 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Acer Float User Interface which lets users openseveral app windows for better multitasking.

The optional digital pen which comes with two buttons: one to launch the Float Notes app, and another to toggle between write and erase modes during note taking.
