After showing up unannounced earlier today, the Nexus 4 has gone up for pre-order at a couple of retailers. The phone is priced at Rs 25,990 and while Flipkart says it will begin shipping at the end of this month, Infibeam claims it will start shipping in two to three days.

However, there’s still no indication of the phone’s official launch on the Google Play Store, which is where Google sells its Nexus series of devices. Considering that these pre-order listings are popping up just hours before Google I/O kicks off in San Francisco, we can expect a major India-related announcement at the event.

Nexus 4 is up for pre order now

If it launches in India through the Play Store, the Nexus 4 will be the second device to enter India through that route. The Asus-made Nexus 7 tablet has already been launched in two avatars on the Play Store; it looks like it will soon have some company.

Of course, the Nexus 4 has been available unofficially since its launch, with its price coming down in recent months. Last we checked, the phone was being sold for around the Rs 24,000 mark in the grey market, which is actually cheaper than the price on the pre-order listing. However, it must be noted that buyers would not have got a bill and warranty card along at the grey market.
