Micromax Canvas 4 gets over 4,000 pre-orders ahead of 8 July release date

Micromax's next up-coming smartphone, the Canvas 4 will be released on 8 July and the company has begun taking pre-orders for the smartphones.The pre-orders opened up on Friday 28 June and interested buyers can place their order here.The advance booking price is Rs 5,000 and the company says that price of the phone will be announced on 8 July, which is mentioned as the launch date for phone, according to the terms and conditions page for the pre-booking.[caption id="attachment_917763" align="alignleft" width="380"] Canvas 4 is out soon. But when it comes to delivering Micromax hasn't had a stellar record. On 14 February 2013, the company had opened online pre-bookings for its Canvas HD smartphone and then claimed two days later that it had sold 25 units per minute.However while pre-booking numbers were high, shipment speed did not match up and delivery of the smartphone was delayed by more than a month. In the subsequent period, Micromax also raised the price of the phone from Rs 13,990 to Rs 14,499.Shipments of Canvas 4 will begin from 10 July and the product will be delivered within 7 business days. While there is no EMI option available on pre-booking, customers can pay the balance amount in 3,6,9 and 12 equal EMIs.[embedalsosee]Micromax had released two teaser videos of the smartphone, and a few pictures. The only thing that is clear is that the phone will come with a 13 megapixel rear camera that has a LED flash, and the phone doesn’t seem to have an Home button on the front screen.Many are speculating that the Canvas 4 could come with an octa-core (eight-core) processor like the Samsung Galaxy S4. However for now this seems unlikely as barring Samsung, no other smartphone manufacturer even in the high-end range has launched an eight-core processor smartphone.The Canvas 4 could come with better battery life as some of the teaser videos had the tag-line, ‘Can Life be endless?,’ prompting many to think that this was a reference to a better battery.
