I’ve played Doom. I’ve loved it. The multiplayer? Not so much; not that it was bad, however. At QuakeCon 2016, Bethesda unveiled the first premium DLC for Doom titled Unto the Evil.
The DLC pack is a multiplayer-only pack that adds three new maps, an assortment of new weapons and other knick-knacks and, more importantly, a new monster. The new Kinetic Mine weapon does look very interesting and I’m itching to try it out. You slap it onto a surface and it’ll blast its way towards and through anyone who dares cross its path. There seems to be a new pistol, called the UAC EMG Pistol, that looks very much like the useless, starting weapon in the single-player.Doom Unto the Evil armour setThe new armour (robotic armour types) and taunt I don’t really care about, but the new monster looks very intriguing indeed. It’s called the Harvester and I’m not really sure what it does. The two seconds that it was visible onscreen shows multiple balls of lightning and, well, lots more lightning. It also seems to float above the ground.Sadly, the DLC costs Rs 1,099, which seems a bit much for a DLC that only brings in 3 maps and random stuff. I’m also not sure if I want to invest that much in Doom when I know that Quake Champions is just around the corner.Unto the Evil is the first of three, premium DLCs expected to arrive for Doom. If you’re fan enough, you can purchase the Season Pass for Rs 3,000, which should include future DLCs. It’s still too expensive though, for me anyway.
