E3 2016: Microsoft's Project Scorpio will give birth to the most powerful Xbox yet

Microsoft showcased a new version of the Xbox console that it has been working on. This one is positioned as a device that's been made with the demands and requirements of developers and gamers in mind. This will not be a refresh of the console experience, similar to the jump between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. The existing applications, and social experiences can be continued and carried over to the new console when it launches. The existing accessories and games are planned to work with the new console. Project Scorpio is based on the Xbox One.The console packs an impressive amount of power. It was designed with native support for 4K resolution in mind, and also supports VR gaming. The device has an 8-Core CPU, but it is not revealed as yet who the CPU manufacturer is. Considering the fact that the console will be backwards-compatible and that it will have to be relatively cheap, it still seems like AMD is the default option. They are the only ones manufacturing cheap 8-core CPUs after all. With AMD's announcement of a new, more efficient architecture, there really doesn't seem to be another option.Microsoft is promising 4K 60fps capabilities on the platform, for gaming, and full support for VR. Bear in mind that only the Nvidia 1080 is capable of true 4K gaming so far, and that it costs over Rs 60,000. Microsoft is promising 6 teraflops of performance however. Fallout 4 VR is one of the earliest expected titles for the console.The Xbox Scorpio is not the same as the other console announced by Microsoft at E3 2016, the compact Xbox One S.
