Apple MacBooks get faster processors; prices reduced by Rs 20k

New Delhi: In a bid to gain more share in the burgeoning computer market in India, technology giant Apple slashed prices of its MacBook laptops.The 13-inch MacBook Air with 256GB of flash (storage) will now be available at a new lower price of Rs 94,900. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display will now start at Rs 99,900 for 128GB of flash and Rs 1,14,900 for a new 2.6 GHz processor and 256GB of flash, Apple said in a statement. Initially the former was earlier available for Rs 1,14,900, while the latter cost Rs 1,34,900."Apple is making the MacBook Pro with Retina display faster and more affordable with updated processors and lower starting prices," it said.[caption id="attachment_625099" align="alignleft" width="380"]

AP[/caption]The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display will now feature a faster 2.4 GHz quad-core processor, while the top-of-the-line 15-inch notebook will come with a new 2.7 GHz quad-core processor and 16GB of memory, it added.The updated MacBook Pro and Air models are available through the Apple Online Store and Apple authorised resellers.Globally, the prices have been slashed by about $200 to $1,499 for of 13-inch MacBook Pro (128GB) and $ 300 for for the new 2.6 GHz processor and 256GB of flash version, which is now available at $1,699, according to technology blog, CNET.PTI
