Sinner offers smart reply over Nadal, Djokovic, Federer comparisons: 'I'm happy to...'

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has said that he cannot compare himself with the trio of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, commonly referred to as the 'Big 3' of men's tennis.
Sinner on Sunday made light work of Elmer Moller in the Round of 32 at the Madrid Open. He secured a 6-2, 6-3 win over Moller to reach the pre-quarterfinals in Madrid. The win was also his 24th consecutive victory in a Masters 1000 tournament.
The four-time Grand Slam winner is currently ruling the world of tennis with his rival Carlos Alcaraz as the duo has shared the last nine Majors among themselves. This has led to the duo being compared to their great predecessors who ruled the world of tennis for the last two decades.

Despite incredible consistency, Sinner still says that he is nowhere close to the great trio of men's tennis and has a long way to go.
“I cannot compare myself with these names,” Sinner said after winning the Madrid Open encounter. “They did so much stuff in their careers, I’m just at the beginning. They are at a different level. For me, I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to play as many matches as possible. But what they did is something else."
“I just try to give everything I have in every match. If I win, good. If not, I tried my best, and I don’t have regrets,” the World No.1 said.
Talking about his win over Moller, Sinner said that he never takes anything for granted and tries to do his best to win matches.
“I tried to stay calm and serve well in important moments,” said Sinner. “I think that was the key today. There was not a lot of rhythm, so I tried to stay quite compact. Let’s see what’s coming in the next round. I never take things for granted. I try to understand what’s working very well in certain conditions."
“This is my motivation. Trying to put myself in the best possible position to win as many matches as possible. There’s no magic. You always try to understand what’s working well in every practice session, and try to do the same thing in the match. I find motivation in this," he said.
Sinner faces 19th seed Cameron Norrie next in Round of 16 as he looks to add another trophy into his cabinet ahead of Roland Garros.
