Coco Gauff fires shots at trolls who attacked her appearance in recent commercial: 'Not going to apologise'

Coco Gauff's recent photoshoot with Italian luxury brand Miu Miu attracted a lot of trolling for the way her hair looked. The tennis star has now slammed trolls with an emotional video.

American tennis star Coco Gauff has hit back at trolls who mocked her hair in her recent photoshoot with Miu Miu, an Italian luxury fashion brand. She has said that the hate she recieved made her feel rough for the past two days but now she has bounced back.

The third-highest ranked player in women's tennis, Gauff recently appeared in a commercial for the Italian luxury brand. She was seen in her natural look with a bag alongside. The photoshoot received some hate comments targetting Gauff's appearance and especially her hair.

However, Gauff has now revealed that she is not going to apologise for having her hair the way they are.

Gauff slams trolls

Gauff took to Tik Tok to announce shared her emotions and slammed those who mocked her hair. She said that keeping her hair in the way they are will feel girls with similar hair feel represented.

"I personally don’t like to slick back my hair super sleek, because it does damage my hair,” Gauff explained. “I do play tennis, so most of the time I’m wearing it in a bun. I have (curl type) 4C hair… That’s just not good for my hair," she said explaining about her hair.

"I’m not going to apologize for the way that my hair looked,” she stated. “There are other girls who have the exact same hair as me, and I just want them to see and feel represented…"

She also revealed that the hate made her feel bad but she bounced back and was now feeling better than ever.

"I’m not going to lie, for two days I was feeling rough. I’m someone who has struggled with looks throughout my life, just being a young Black girl in this world," she said. "Y’all did knock a diva down… but diva got up, and I feel better than ever.”

A three-time Grand Slam champion Gauff was recently defeated by Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the Miami Open.
