Former England skipper Tony Greig diagnosed with cancer

Former England skipper Tony Greig has been diagnosed with a type of lung cancer and will undergo a biopsy later in the week. That will help him determine which stage of the disease he is at and what sort of treatment he will go through.[caption id="attachment_497416" align="alignleft" width="380"] Since retiring from cricket, Greig has become a popular commentator.Getty Images[/caption]The Sunday Telegraph reports that doctors found a lesion on Greig's right lung this month which gave way to the tests to find out he was suffering from cancer.He is quoted in the report as saying: "I have had a few scrapes in my life and this is another one. Vivian (his wife) and I are going to put the boxing gloves on and fight this like we've never fought anything before."Since retiring from cricket, Greig has become a popular commentator. He scored 3,599 runs at an average of 40.43 in 58 Tests for England. This included eight centuries and 20 fifties.
