BCB chief pays tribute to late Jagmohan Dalmiya; proposes exchange program with CAB

Kolkata: Paying his tribute to former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President late Jagmohan Dalmiya, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan on Saturday expressed BCB's desire to have an exchange programme with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).Hasan, along with the BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury, called on BCCI's New Area Development Committee Chairman Avishek Dalmiya at his residence on Saturday and discussed about the exchange programme between the two countries.[caption id="attachment_2697170" align="alignleft" width="380"] File photo of BCB President Nazmul Hasan. AFP[/caption]"They spoke about how the CAB and BCB could further strengthen the exchange programmes. As part of such plans, they would visit Bengal Cricket Academy (in Kalyani) in near future," Avishek said.There's also a plan in place that Bangladeshi players may take part in CAB's Vision 2020, which has former Indian batsmanVVS Laxman and Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan, among others, on board."They are keen to develop the spinner's wing. Especially with regard to emerging talents and would soon work out a proposal. We also discussed about players from Bangladesh training at CAB's Vision 2020 camps," Avishek said."Also, we would explore whether we can work out something with regard to the New Area Development Committee. In the next meeting, we may discuss the prospects. This would however would have to be routed via the BCCI," he said.While presenting a memorabilia as a tribute to former president Jagmohan Dalmiya, Hasan also invited the late BCCI President' wife Chandralekha and Avishek to Bangladesh so that a meeting with the Bangladesh Prime Minister could beorganised in this regard."We are thankful for all the support that has provided over the years. We hope to strengthen our bonds further," Avishek said.PTI
