It is a part of the Barasat Lok Sabha constituency.In 2016, Madhyamgram had a total of 2,58,027 registered electors and 287 polling booths.Voter turnout in previous electionThe voter turnout for the constituency of Madhyamgram in the 2016 Assembly election was 86.75 percent.Past election results and winnersIn the 2016 Assembly election, Rathin Ghosh of the Trinamool Congress won the Madhyamgram Assembly constituency, defeating his nearest rival Congress’ Tapas Majumdar.He also won the seat in the 2011 state polls, defeating his nearest rival Ranjit Choudhury of All India Forward Bloc. The Mamata Banerjee-led party is fielding Ghosh this year from the constituency.Madhyamgram will vote in the fifth phase of the polls on 17 April.Elections for the West Bengal Assembly will be held in eight phases, up from seven last time.
