Andhra CM urges TDP, YSRCP to participate in assembly discussions

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy appealed to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress party today to participate in the discussion on the draft AP Re-organisation Bill-2013 during the ongoing session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.The AP Assembly is being continuously adjourned without undertaking any business after disturbances created by YSR Congress party legislators and TDP legislators from the Seemandhra region.[caption id="attachment_1329845" align="alignleft" width="380"] Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy. AFP[/caption]"If there is no discussion, it would assumed that we have accepted the bifurcation of the state. We should discuss and convey the House opinion to the President or Parliament. I appeal to both parties to come and participate in the discussion," AP Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy told reporters during a press conference this evening."People of both the regions (Telangana and Seemandhra) will come to know about benefits or losses if any when the state is divided after due discussion in the House," he said.Ever since the Union Cabinet decided to bifurcate the state, the AP CM has been strongly objecting to the Centre's move saying that both regions (Telangana and Seemandhra) would lose if the state is bifurcated.When asked if the AP Chief Minister as the leader of the House would move a resolution to keep Andhra Pradesh united, he did not give a direct reply by cryptically saying, "You will see what we will do in the House".Meanwhile, both the TDP and the YSR Congress have been stalling the ongoing Assembly session for different reasons while the YSR Congress has demanded a resolution for an united Andhra Pradesh to be moved, before taking up the discussion on the draft Bill.The TDP's MLAs representing the Seemandhra region also alleged that the government did not provide enough information on the Bill for taking up discussion.PTI
