Spinner Ravindra Jadeja took 11th fifer of his career, 5/47 in 22 overs, in sensational return from knee surgery. "It's not a rank turner at all and for a first-day wicket it was slow and had low bounce," Jadeja said. "It was not like it was difficult to defend for the batsmen but as the match will progress it will turn more." AP

Fellow spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets to bowl out Australia for 177 in the final session on a turning wicket. Ashwin took his tally to 451 wickets in the 89th Test - second-fastest bowler to the 450-wicket mark behind Muttiah Muralitharan (80). Ashwin is the ninth player to take 450-plus Test wickets and the second Indian after Anil Kumble (619). AP
