Vikram Seth's new book of poems to be released this october, 25 years after previous one

New Delhi: Novelist and poet Vikram Seth's new book of poems, which comes 25 years after the previous one, will be released this October, his publishers have said.Summer Requiem by the Aleph Book Company is the first stand-alone poetry collection by Seth since his All You Who Sleep Tonight that was published in 1990.[caption id="attachment_1364681" align="alignleft" width="380"] Image from Getty.[/caption]The new poems "traces the immutable shifting of seasons, the relentless rhythms of a great world that both 'gifts and harms'," according to publishers."Luminous, resonant and profound, these poems trace the dying days of summer, 'the hour of rust' when memory is haunted by loss and decay."The 63-year-old author is currently working on a sequel to his epic novel, A Suitable Boy, scheduled to hit the market in 2017 according to publishers.Seth was born and educated in Kolkata and later went to England, California and China.He has written acclaimed books in several genres, five books of poetry, a verse novel, The Golden Gate; a travel book, From Heaven Lake; animal fables, Beastly Tales and a memoir, Two Lives.PTI
