British supermodel Naomi Campbell has run into trouble for planning to organise an elephant polo match for her boyfriend's birthday celebrations in Rajasthan.

British supermodel Naomi Campbell, who arrived in India on 5 November to celebrate the 50th birthday of her boyfriend Vladimir Doronin, has run into a fresh wave of controversy for planning an elephant polo match in Rajasthan for her guests. According to an Indian Express report guests flew down to Rajasthan in twelve chartered planes for the celebrations.According to PTI, PETA has condemned her move as 'appalling' and expressed shock at how she seems set to exploit 'India's national treasure'.[caption id="attachment_515738" align="alignleft" width="380"]

Reuters[/caption]PETA representative Benazir Suraiya said, "Elephant polo is a widely condemned cruel sport which supports the violation of numerous Indian animal protection laws and offends everyone who cares about leaving wild animals in the wild. I have no doubt that she would hire cowboys and put bucking straps on cattle if she put on the party there."Times Now reports that the PETA has gone ahead and vehemently derided the former supermodel for inflicting cruelty on an animal 'which has more intelligence than Naomi Campbell can ever afford'.This isn't Campbell's first run in with the PETA. In the '90s she famously shot for a PETA campaign where she declared she would rather go naked than wear fur. Soon after she was seen modelling for a fur company.
