Taylor Swift's wedding dress designer Jonathan Anderson says creating her Dior gown was 'emotional'

Taylor Swift's wedding gown may still be under wraps, but the designer behind one of the year's most talked-about bridal looks has finally offered a glimpse into what it was like creating it.

Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of women's, men's and haute couture at Christian Dior, has described the experience of designing Swift's wedding dress as an emotional one, revealing that the two developed a close friendship throughout the process.

"It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends," Anderson told WWD. "It's an emotional thing doing someone's wedding."

The British designer's comments come just days after Swift married NFL star Travis Kelce in an intimate ceremony at New York City's Madison Square Garden. While the couple have yet to release official wedding photographs, details of the bride's couture ensemble have slowly emerged.

According to a statement shared by Swift's publicist, Tree Paine, the singer became the first celebrity to wear a couture wedding gown designed by Anderson since he took over as Dior's creative director across women's, men's and haute couture collections.

The milestone marks another high-profile fashion moment for the Grammy-winning singer, who has long favoured custom creations for major career milestones but had never before worn one of Anderson's couture bridal designs.

For the ceremony, Swift paired her bespoke Christian Dior haute couture gown with Cartier jewellery and custom Christian Louboutin pumps, completing a look that blended classic elegance with contemporary couture.
