Top KCP commander arrested in Delhi; massive arms cache recovered in Manipur

Indian security forces have arrested Haobijam Dilip Singh, a top commander of the banned Manipuri militant organisation, the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP).

The arrest was executed during a coordinated, joint operation involving the Special Cell of the Delhi Police, the Manipur Police, and central intelligence agencies. Acting on precise intelligence inputs, security personnel arrested Singh shortly after he arrived in the national capital.

Secret meeting under investigation

According to senior security officials, Singh had slipped into Delhi specifically to conduct a highly classified, "secret meeting."

Central intelligence agencies have immediately launched an expansive probe into his local contacts, his exact movements within the city, and the ultimate objective of his visit. Investigators are heavily focusing on whether the insurgent group was planning to establish a network or execute operations within the national capital or other major metropolitan areas.

"He is a high-value operative wanted in more than a dozen cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)," an official stated. "His presence in Delhi points to a deeper network that we are currently dismantling."

Massive arms seizure in Manipur

Following his arrest, an interrogation of the KCP leader led security forces to a hidden tactical dump in Manipur's Kakching district. A subsequent midnight recovery operation unearthed a staggering arsenal of military-grade weaponry and explosives hidden by the outfit.

Officials suspect that the massive stockpile was intended to orchestrate large-scale coordinated violence across Northeast India. The recovered arsenal includes:

An AK-56 rifle, an Amogh rifle, an AI rifle, and a high-precision M4 rifle fitted with a tactical scope. Nearly 2,000 live cartridges of multiple calibers (including INSAS, SLR, AK, and .303), alongside dozens of empty weapon magazines, 51 high-explosive (HE) bombs, two para bombs, 11 detonators, and four lethode shells. Multiple tactical bags, tarpaulin sheets, and a Redmi 13C mobile phone operating dual Airtel and Jio SIM cards, which has been sent to cyber forensics for data extraction.

The Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has been banned by the Government of India for its violent secessionist activities and systemic extortion rackets in Manipur.
