Three people have been arrested after a collapse of an under-construction bridge killed three labourers in Mumbai near the Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Marol.
Meanwhile L&T, who were responsible for the project, told the media that the incident was an 'accident' and took place despite adequate safety measures being in place.
"Our immediate concern is the treatment of those injured. After that we will think about compensation", said a spokesman from the company who added that other labourers at the site were being questioned in an effort to find out what had gone wrong.
Apart from the three men who were killed in the accident, seven others were injured.
The Mumbai police have registered a case of negligence against Larsen & Toubro , the company involved in the construction of the bridge.
In September last year, one person was killed and eight injured when a section of the under-construction Mumbai Metro bridge collapsed in Andheri East.
