Telangana, Andhra CMs should settle high court split issue: Bandaru Dattatreya

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Saturday said the chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should sit together and sort out issues with regard to the bifurcation of Hyderabad High Court, maintaining the Centre has no role in it.[caption id="attachment_2588738" align="alignleft" width="380"] Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya. Both the chief ministers (N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao) should sit together and discuss (the issue) and come to a decision," he said at a press conference in Hyderabad.The Union minister along with A Narasimha Reddy, chairman of Bar Council of High Court, earlier met Governor ESLNarasimhan and apprised him of the situation in the backdrop of raging row between the two states over judicialappointments and HC bifurcation. The BJP leader, who hails from Telangana, said he recently met Union Law Minister Sadananda Gowda and Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the issue with them.Telangana judicial employees and advocates are on a strike for the past few days demanding immediate bifurcationof the HC. They are also protesting the allotment of judges from Andhra in Telangana's courts.The HC had earlier suspended 11 judicial officers on disciplinary grounds. The agitating officials and advocatesare also demanding revocation of suspension of the judges. Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, but both states still have a common HC. PTI
