Sunita Kejriwal to attend INDIA bloc rally in Ranchi: Here's how Delhi CM's wife is taking front seat in politics
Although Sunita Kejriwal has been representing her husband, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 and is currently in Tihar jail, her participation in the upcoming election rally marks her debut in wooing voters during the Lok Sabha elections

Sunita Kejriwal, wife of jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, will enter the political arena by participating in an INDI Alliance rally to be held in Jharkhand's Ranchi on April 21.
Although Sunita Kejriwal has been representing her husband, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 and is currently in Tihar jail, her participation in the upcoming election rally marks her debut in wooing voters during the Lok Sabha elections.
Sunita Kejriwal will be accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP MP Sanjay Singh in the Jharkhand rally.
Here's a look at how Sunita Kejriwal has taken a front seat in politics:
- Earlier this week, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) named Sunita Kejriwal as one of the star campaigners in Gujarat, thereby kicking off her "first political responsibility." A party member said, “This is not an appointment per se but is certainly Sunita ji’s first political responsibility. Whether or not more responsibilities will be assigned to her is a call that the party will take when required over the coming days.”
- Sunita Kejriwal also attended the INDIA bloc's mega 'Loktantra Bachao' rally in New Delhi's Ramlila Maidan in March, soon after the national capital's chief minister was arrested by ED. During the rally, she said, "Your own Kejriwal has sent a message for you from jail. Before reading this message, I would like to ask you something. Our Prime Minister put my husband in jail, did he do the right thing? Do you believe that Kejriwal Ji is a true patriot and honest person? Your Kejriwal is a lion."

- In multiple instances, Sunita Kejriwal has sat on the chief minister's seat to read out her husband's messages from jail. "Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message to all MLAs: 'Just because I am in jail, the people of Delhi should not suffer in any way. Every MLA should visit their area every day and discuss people's problems and sort them out'," she said in one such instance.
- Meanwhile, AAP sources have not denied Sunita Kejriwal being assigned more "organisational responsibilities" ahead of the general elections
