Reliance Industries names Anant Ambani company's whole-time director
The board approved Anant Ambani's appointment for a five-year term starting May 1, 2025, based on the recommendation of the Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and subject to shareholder approval, according to a stock exchange filing

Reliance Industries Ltd announced on Friday that Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Chairman Mukesh Ambani, has been appointed as a whole-time director of the company.
The board approved Anant Ambani's appointment for a five-year term starting May 1, 2025, based on the recommendation of the Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and subject to shareholder approval, according to a stock exchange filing.
Having previously served as a non-executive director on Reliance’s board, Anant Ambani will now take on a more active executive role at India's most valuable company. He is also on the boards of several Reliance group companies, including Jio Platforms since March 2020, Reliance Retail Ventures since May 2022, and Reliance New Energy and Reliance New Solar Energy since June
Additionally, he has been a board member of Reliance Foundation since September
Anant Ambani holds a Bachelor's degree from Brown University in the US and is passionate about animal welfare, actively participating in initiatives aimed at rehabilitating at-risk animals and providing care and dignity in their later years.
His older siblings, Akash and Isha Ambani also serve on the board of RIL as non-executive directors. Akash is the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, the telecom and digital services arm of the group, while Isha is an executive director at Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, the group's retail arm.
