The nation remembers Rabindranath Tagore on his birth anniversary, today 7 May. Born in 1861, Tagore's immense contributions as a poet, painter, author and dramatist remain a vital part of Indian art and culture even today.The day falls on the 25th day of the Bengali month of Boishakh or Ponchishe Boishakh.
