Parliament security breach: I.N.D.I bloc leaders to meet President Murmu, seek Amit Shah's statement on lapse

A delegation of I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders will meet President Droupadi Murmu on the issue of security breach in Parliament, according to a report.According to a News 18 report, there will be a meeting of I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders in Parliament at 10 am on Thursday and time will be sought from the President for the meeting.Opposition parties are likely to demand Home Minister Amit Shah's statement in both the  Houses on the issue, added the report.Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla called a meeting of MPs on Wednesday, where he assured them that no visitor passes would be made till further orders.According to News 18, Opposition MPs told the Speaker that concrete measures must be taken to strengthen the security apparatus at Parliament.It was agreed that the PA and PS of MPs will not be allowed inside the Parliament premises, the report added.MPs also asked for metal detector to be put into place for their entrance.Some of the MPs also asked for the media to be disallowed in Parliament but the Speaker defended the right of the media to cover Parliament.He said that a designated corner would be made for the media so that there is no crowd in front of the gates from where the MPs enter the Parliament premises.Emerging from the meeting, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that they have requested the Speaker to carry out a detailed probe into the incident."The Speaker called an all-party meeting at 4 pm. During this meeting topics of security issues were raised. We also raised several other issues in front of the Speaker... The incident of security breach that took place today was also discussed... For the past several days this has been discussed that some terrorist organisations will attack the Parliament on December 13. The government was aware of this. Still, there was a breach, why?... We requested the Speaker that a detailed probe should be done into this incident... We also gave other suggestions to the Speaker...," said Chowdhury.In a major security breach on the 22nd anniversary of Parliament terror attack, two intruders jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour and released yellow gas from canisters and shouted slogans before being overpowered by MPs.Around the same time, two persons, including a woman, also sprayed coloured gas from canisters while shouting slogans outside Parliament premises.Birla informed the House that four persons have been arrested - two from inside the House, and two from outside Parliament in connection with the incident.He said the Lok Sabha is conducting a probe and the Delhi Police has also been instructed to do so.The smoke that was released by the intruders appeared to be harmless in the initial probe, he said, adding it looked like it was sprayed to create sensationalism.
