In an address to the media, the grieving father of Pune-based businessman Ketan Vishal Agrawal shared the chilling moment he realised his son’s death was not an accident.

Speaking out after the arrest of Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her secret lover, Chetan Chaudhary, Vishal Agrawal revealed that Siya’s absolute lack of emotion upon seeing Ketan’s body immediately raised red flags for the family.

"She saw the body and did not react at all," Vishal Agrawal said. "There was no grief, no tears, no shock. That was the moment we knew something was terribly wrong."

Inconsistencies that blew the cover

On June 18, Ketan Agrawal plunged 400 feet to his death from the historic Lohagad Fort near Pune. At the time, Goyal told local authorities and the family that Ketan had lost his balance and slipped while trying to take a photograph in heavy winds.

However, the Agrawal family refused to buy the story. Ketan was an experienced trekker who knew the treacherous terrain of Maharashtra's forts well. But more than the geography, it was Goyal's cold behaviour that blew the cover. When search and rescue teams recovered Ketan's body after a three-hour operation, Goyal's flat reaction became the point of suspicion.

A stolen passport and a murderous plot

The family revealed that Ketan had booked a lavish pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia, to celebrate Goyal's birthday and conduct a high-end pre-wedding photoshoot. However, when they reached the airport, Ketan's passport was mysteriously missing from his bag, forcing him to cancel the trip.

Investigators now believe Goyal deliberately stole or misplaced the passport to prevent the international vacation and redirect Ketan to Lohagad Fort, a secluded location where she and Chaudhary, could execute their plan.

"If she didn’t want to marry him, she could have just said no. We would have cancelled the wedding immediately," Vishal Agrawal stated.

Demands for fast-track justice

The Pune Rural Police, under Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandip Singh Gill, moved quickly once the technical data and CCTV footage contradicted the suspects' timelines. Chaudhary was arrested first and reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation, which led directly to the arrest of Siya Goyal. Both face formal charges of murder and criminal conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The Agrawal family, who had already poured crores into booking a grand heritage palace in Udaipur and chartering two private aircraft for the November wedding, is now demanding the strictest possible punishment.

Vishal Agrawal has made a direct appeal to the Maharashtra state government to move the case to a fast-track court.
