Modiplomacy: PM Modi held 31 bilaterals in 5 days across 3 countries

In his three-nation - Nigeria, Brazil and Guyana - five-day visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met 31 world leaders and heads of organisations with whom he held bilateral meetings and with some there were informal interactions.

Apart from the key agendas, PM Modi’s recent foreign visit also included whirlwind diplomacy which was marked by a hectic flurry of bilateral meetings.

Details of PM Modi's bilateral meetings in Brazil, Nigeria, Guyana

In Brazil, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, PM Modi held 10 bilateral meetings.

These include bilateral meetings with leaders of Brazil, Indonesia, Portugal, Italy, Norway, France, UK, Chile, Argentina and Australia.

Among the 10 bilateral meetings in Brazil, it was PM Modi's first talks with five leaders -- Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto, Portugal Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, the UK PM Keir Starmer, President of Chile Gabriel Boric, and President of Argentina Javier Milei.

PM Modi also had informal interactions and pull aside meetings with leaders of Singapore, South Korea, Egypt, USA and Spain and with the heads and executives of various international organisations including European Commission President's Ursula von der Leyen, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, World Health Organisation's (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva and Gita Gopinath.

In Nigeria, he held a bilateral meeting with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Guyana was PM Modi's last destination of his three-nation tour, where he held nine bilateral meetings.

He held bilateral meetings with leaders of Guyana, Dominica, Bahamas, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Barbados, Antigua & Barbuda, Grenada and St. Lucia.
