A seven-year-old boy in Kanpur Dehat district is facing accusations of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl from their neighborhood.

This incident occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of the Akbarpur police station on a late Sunday night.

The matter came to light when the girl's mother filed a complaint on Tuesday, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 5/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to reports, both children involved have been admitted to the district hospital, where a medical examination confirmed the rape. According to the five-year-old girl's mother, her daughter had gone outside to play when this distressing incident unfolded.
