Jammu put on high alert, security intensified after Bengaluru blast

The police stations and posts at the bordering areas have been asked to enhance their vigil," Beig said.Vital installations across the Jammu city, including the bus stands, the railway station and airport have been put on high alert besides the night patrolling has also been increased in the city, Beig added.Security has been tightened ahead of New Year eve celebrations also, he said.The Border Security Force, too, has increased its vigil along the International Border in the region to thwart any infiltration bid from across the border."In wake of the increase in the incidents of cross border firing from the Pakistani side which is mostly aimed at facilitating the cross border infiltration, security has been tightened in and around the international border," a senior BSF officer said.PTI
