IM terrorist, allegedly involved in German Bakery blast, arrested

An Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist, suspected to be involved in the German Bakery blast of Pune in 2010, was arrested in the city on Wednesday, the police said.

The explosion in German Bakery had left at least nine people dead.[/caption]The explosion in German Bakery had left at least nine persons deadA special team of the Kolkata Police STF arrested Zahid Hussain, a Bangladeshi national, from outside Kolkata railway station under Chitpore police station on Wednesday evening.Hussain, a resident of Mirpur in Bangladesh, is suspected to be one of the main conduits of IM leaders in India, a senior STF official told PTI on condition of anonymity."Zahid Hussain was in touch with all the important Indian Mujahideen leaders and used to supply them with fake Indian currency notes and explosives. He is also suspected to be involved in German Bakery blast in Pune," the official said.The explosion at the German Bakery outlet had left at least nine people  dead and several injured on 14 February, 2010."We are investigating all the aspects. He will be produced before the court tomorrow (Thursday)," he said.PTI
