The Chief Coordinator of G20 Harsh Vardhan Shringla hailed the announcement of the Delhi Declaration on Day one of the summit, saying it is "nothing short of extraordinary.""Given the fact that we were able to adopt the New Delhi Declaration by consensus within the first half of our first day's session despite the strong polarisation within the G20 on geopolitical issues is nothing short of the word 'extraordinary," Shringla said.
During the second 'One Family' session on Day 1 of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Group of 20 has adopted the New Delhi Leaders Summit Declaration and a consensus had been reached among member states.“I have received good news. Due to the hard work of our team, consensus has been built on the New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit declaration. My proposal is to adopt this leadership declaration.”“I announce to adopt this declaration. On this occasion, I congratulate my Sherpa, ministers, who worked hard for it and made it possible…,” the Indian Prime Minister said.
