Sergio Gor, the United States Ambassador to India, has praised Bengaluru’s vibrant character after visiting the city, speaking about its unique blend of innovation, culture and everyday life. Shortly after arriving, Gor shared his excitement on social media, posting a photo of himself enjoying local food and soaking in the city’s atmosphere.

“Just arrived in Bengaluru! From startups to street food, Bengaluru’s energy is unmatched! Thank you to my great host @Tejasvi_Surya,” Gor wrote in his post, capturing the enthusiasm of his visit and the city’s dynamic appeal.

The ambassador was hosted by Tejasvi Surya, who welcomed him to Bengaluru and offered a glimpse into the city’s famed culture. Surya shared that the two had conversations over masala dosa and coffee at a popular Indiranagar café, discussing the growing partnership between India and the United States, particularly in trade, technology and innovation. He also introduced the ambassador to a ride in a local auto-rickshaw, describing the experience as memorable.

Surya added, “Bengaluru truly represents the journey from masala dosa to machine learning, blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation and plays a vital role in strengthening economic and people-to-people ties between our two democracies. With over 700 American companies and 43% of India’s software exports coming from Bengaluru, our city is central to US-India economic ties. Home to 40% of India’s GCCs, Bengaluru continues to drive innovation-led partnership between our two democracies."

A visit reflecting deeper partnership

Gor’s visit comes at a time when cooperation between the two countries continues to expand across sectors such as technology, trade and innovation.

In addition, the BJP MP held a review meeting with senior officials of GAIL (India) Limited regarding the progress of City Gas Distribution works in Jayanagar and Basavanagudi.

He directed officials to ensure smooth implementation and strong coordination between departments so the facility can be made available to citizens at the earliest. MLAs Ravi L.A. and C.K. Raju were present, along with representatives from BWSSB, BESCOM, the police, and other stakeholder agencies.
